Occupational Therapy (OT) allows people with mental, physical, developmental, or emotional disabilities to participate in everyday life by giving them the necessary tools to remain as independent as possible in their own homes.
OT uses activities of daily living training, neuromuscular re-education, manual therapy, modalities, and patient/family education to help the patient return to the functional activities of their daily life such as dressing or making a meal and thereby retain their independence.
