First, a patient will need to fill out a set of Patient Forms providing us with your medical history and the reason for your visit. These forms can either be filled out and sent online or else in the office before your first visit.
A staff member will then show you to a private treatment room where Dr. Ozar will review your file with you and conduct his examination. This will consist of a postural, orthopedic, muscloskeletal, and brief neurological exam. Depending on the results of the exam, Dr. Ozar may order x-rays. Since we have a machine in the office, this can be done on the spot.
Unless his findings warrant further study or medical referral, Dr. Ozar will then prescribe a treatment suited to your specific condition. This will usually consist of massage followed by chiropractic, acupuncture, laser therapy, or physical therapy. A patient will never receive a treatment without having discussed it first with Dr. Ozar.
A patients first visit will take about 1 1/2 hours, depending on their condition, while follow up treatments will run about 45 minutes.
Dr. Ozar often prescribes Pilates and Gyrotonic to his patients to help them build the necessary muscle strength to maintain their pain free state.
